Clinician Spotlight - Dr. Briney

"I have 4 different Biolase Lasers in my practice (Waterlase iPlus, Waterlase Express, Epic PRO & Epic X Diode). To say that we use a lot of tips is an understatement. My favorite Waterlase tip for my Perio Repair procedures is the Radial Firing Perio Tip size 5 (RFPT5) which gives me the confidence to provide a non-surgical procedure for my periodontally challenged patients, thus resulting in a successful outcome. As for using either Waterlase for preparation of teeth, my tip choice is the MZ6. This is the "workhorse" of tips, and I can rely on this tip for a multitude of treatments that I provide in my office. I can't leave out the RFT2 for my endodontic cases.  This tip is a game changer when it comes to elevating my confidence level, knowing that the canals are debri free and prepared for obturation.

My hygienists love the non-initiated E4 perio tips when treating their patients with the Epic X Diode. This tip has helped build trust with patients.  The procedure is more comfortable for them and gives the hygienists the ability to properly access the perio pocket. As for the Epic Pro (which I consider the doctor's diode), I love the Pre-Initiated E4 tip. This is as close as a doctor will get to having a scalpel in their hand without causing the same type of trauma as traditional surgery.

Dr. Briney practices all aspects of general dentistry in his private practice in Orange County, CA (Dana Point).
